Acolytes

Saint Monica’s Acolyte Program provides parishioners of all ages the opportunity to participate in and experience our services from a different perspective. The term acolyte comes from the Greek word akolouthos, meaning “follower” or “attendant”. Acolytes continue traditions from the earliest days of the Church by participating in processions as Crucifers, Torch and Flag-bearers, lighting and extinguishing candles, and assisting the priest’s preparation for the Eucharist.

Acolyting is an exciting way to play a major role in the service. Training is available for anyone of age who wishes to be a part of this awesome group. For more information, contact the Acolyte Master.
